Senior QA ETL Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced “Senior QA ETL Test Engineer” with a strong background in ETL testing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data validation, ETL processes, and experience in comparing large datasets across different databases. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data as it moves through various stages of transformation and storage.

Qualifications:
  • At least 3+ years of work experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in ETL testing and data validation.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data querying tools.
  • Experience with data comparison across different databases, particularly PostgreSQL and Amazon Redshift.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation.
  • Experience with cloud-based data services and platforms especially with AWS.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain testing framework.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for ETL processes.
  • Validate and verify data transformation logic to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Perform data comparisons between source and target databases (e.g., PostgreSQL to Amazon Redshift) to ensure data consistency.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and transformation rules.
  • Utilize SQL and other data querying tools to perform data validation and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline ETL testing processes.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide detailed reports on test results, defects, and overall quality metrics.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in ETL testing and data quality assurance.
